I just re-read your original post and your concerns about his transition and full immersion. Of course you are the parent and know what's best for him, but I honestly think he will be fine. Kids are so resilient. He will learn so quickly that you will be amazed. We were worried about how things would work for our kids with them being in full immersion during the day and then coming home to us only speaking English. I think if your child was older it would be more of a concern, still not a grave concern, but right now his brain is a sponge and the benefits will be endless.
They have been for us so far. Looking back I wouldn't have it any other way. My kids are so proud of their ability to speak Spanish and English.

Her English is getting better, not necessarily good. There are others in the center that will help translate as necessary for you if you need it. If you decide to place your son there, she will only speak to him in Spanish.

Not sure if this will work for you, but we used and loved Reina Calderon from OSSE's childcare connections site. She cared for my now 8 year old twins and my almost 5 year old until they were school aged. We have referred family members, friends and coworkers some of whom are still currently at the center. All 3 children are bilingual thanks to Reina; we their parents only speak English. Awesome experience all around for us.

The daycare is right on Eastern Avenue in 20011 zipcode and she's H on the list if you do a search. The center is maybe 10-15 minutes to downtown Silver Spring.

I'm relocating my family from Boston to DC on October 1st (new job at Georgetown U). Our son will be 7 months old and need full-time childcare. In Boston we were lucky to get a spot in a large in-home daycare right in our neighborhood. MA law is 1 provider for every 3 infants and our current daycare has 1.5. I'm a bit dismayed that DC allows 4 kids per provider, but we can't change that. I should also say that we pay $350/week.

We are having trouble finding something in DC/MD. I toured a very large chain daycare center while I was in DC last week and hated it - I don't like how the infants are separated from older kids and it felt very institutional. It was also much more than we are used to paying. I've searched care.com, carelulu, and the childcareconnections.osse.dc.gov site and I'm not finding much. I would appreciate any suggestions, even of bigger daycare centers that are affordable and a bit more homey in atmosphere.

Also, we would have loved for him to be in a bilingual daycare from the get-go, but we his parents only speak English as do all his current childcare providers. We don't want to throw him into a foreign language immersion situation amidst all the other transitions he'll be going through right now.
