UVA may be in the "unfortunate position of being in a state where the politics are especially ripe for this sort of thing" but don't forget that the majority of the student body comes from that state as well.

But the supremacist have been allowed to march through UVA, a pattern that may be permitted at state universities (state property). Many state universities are adjacent to public streets so it's not unreasonable to think that copycat white supremacists will follow the UVA lead.
