I didn't get much sleep but that was because of the endless rotation of people coming in to check on me and the baby. You can set up "do not disturb" hours which were helpful to minimize the interruptions (medications and doctors still came, but the cleaning people, volunteers and catering did not).
18:56 here. I am not kidding when I say that no one checked on me or the baby between 7pm shift change and 7am shift change. I went looking for my nurse several times in the night.

I got a fairly condescending response from the tour guide indicating that there was no more nursery because it's so much better for mom and baby to establish breastfeeding if the baby rooms in. This is not my first baby, but first at GW, and was annoyed at the response.
GW expects you to bring someone with you and have them stay overnight to help care for you and the baby. As in they aren't supposed to act like an employee of the hospital except they aren't.
As a warning you won't get any help or sleep at GW. It's awful.
