Is this the same Dr Payson who used to be at Dominion?

I also had trouble reaching the nurse at the dr's office - got transferred to someone in Colorado who was very nice and who helped me make my call. I've had trouble with their patient portal too. Everyone there is super nice but being put on hold multiple times to reach someone during the day is no fun.

I would be really interested to hear if anyone does cycle there, please update us and let us know how it goes.

I did cycle with CCRM in CO and didn't have those issues with doctor or nurse (who were both great and responsive), but their business office is truly abysmal (like does not even attempt to respond to emails half the time, lots of roadblocks, lots of delays, no accountability for solving problems, etc). Definitely room for improvement there.

I tried to contact them via their website and got bounced off several times before it went through. Finally, I got a response from someone in CO, but they refused to answer my questions about cost and whether I needed to repeat tests.

I'm a patient at Shady Grove but just had a second opinion consultation at CCRM in VA with Dr. Payson. First off, I really liked Dr. Payson. I feel too embedded to switch at this point and CCRM is farther from my home, but I'd recommend him based on expertise and bedside manner. He also has a great reputation. Second, I asked about their embryology lab and was told that their embryologist went through training at CCRM CO. It's true they don't have a track record for their location, but I would assume their standards would be the same and that they'd have a lot riding on ensuring they had good successes at a brand new location. I won't be transferring, but had a good experience and would recommend it based on that. There could be some real advantage to going to a new clinic in terms of appointment availability. I would pick them if I were just starting out.

is anyone doing a cycle there yet? i am considering doing a DE cycle with them, maybe as soon as next month. the fact that the lab seems "untested" causes me little concern.
i met with dr. payson and really liked him. he seemed kind, experienced, and like he knew what he was talking about. i don't think it's bad that he is a local doctor. i like to think i'm quite good at my job, even if i'm local.

I also wondered about the lab. I have a feeling that Colorado flagship lab is still the best.

I've been. They said that the lab folks were experienced to start out with, and that CCRM has extra strict protocols which all of the satellite offices also follow. But I'm not an embryologist myself, so honestly, I have no way of really verifying how good their lab is.

If you're thinking about going, they just opened last week or the week before, and didn't seem to be fully booked yet, so it all just seemed to be less hectic than some of the other offices I've been to. I felt like they had more time for me. On the negative side, they're still setting up some of the insurance billing authorizations However, I'm paying out of pocket anyways, so that wasn't an issue for me.

What did you think? Do you think its lab is top notch since its super new?
