My ideal program is extremely competitive, would need to score in top 10% on GRE.
Where I'm more likely to end up is maybe a little less competitive.

How competitive is the program and how are you at standardized tests? A prep course did nothing for my DH. I managed to score well just buckling down and studying for about 6 weeks with test prep books.

I want to take the GRE, possibly in the coming months but maybe not until next year, and was wondering if anyone has any tips for studying/preparing to take it so long after graduating college. I'm guessing prep classes? Are they worth the money? I'm especially concerned about math-related testing/subjects. I'm also a bit worried about timing; I have a toddler and I'm expecting #2 in January. Appreciate any advice you have.
