During peak times there is often a police officer directing traffic. Love all the shade at 7 Locks.

Or join the BCC YMCA when they offer their no joining fee deal before the summer and use that pool while you are on the waitlist for OGC. Not as nice as Wildwood, but there are lots of Wyngate families that use the YMCA pool during the summer.

Wildwood used to be an amazing community pool, with awesome food and tons of neighborhood kids on the swim team. Then they got rid of the lady who made the awesome food. Then the board president and a guy from the neighborhood tried to get everyone to vote YES on a $4,000 dues payment to renovate the pool. The community voted them both out by voting no. Meanwhile, he pissed a lot of people off who left the pool. They are working on rebuilding the community, and the new board put out a more modest renovation project. Meanwhile, they are rebuilding the community. Still tons of local kids - swim team has always been very competitive.

I have friends who go to OGC so I am sort of familiar with it, but I've never been to Wildwood and don't have friends there. What would you say are the downsides to Wildwood (which I think is what you are implying).

I don't like the location or parking situation, but people in the nearby Seven Locks neighborhoods find it a nice place to socialize.

But back to OP's question. Obviously join the pool without the waitlist, with a seasonal membership if possible, and see if you like it. It would be worth getting on the waitlist for the other though.

No, you're thinking of Seven Locks Swim&Tennis.

Per another thread, Wildwood has no waitlist right now.

We'd love to join a pool within the next couple of years and live close to the Old Georgetown Club and Wildwood Manor pools. I know that both pools have wait lists, so we're trying to think ahead. Can anyone offer pros and cons for these two pools? How do they compare? Our children will attend Wyngate, so I'm not sure if one has more Wyngate kids than the other.

Thank you
