Many years ago, when I was in my twenties, a woman on my softball team said, "I had a dream about you last night. We were in a hot tub." I said, "Really?" and moved away on the bench. Avoided talking to her from then on, or at least when I was by myself. I could see where one might think another woman on a softball team, especially one as gifted athletically as me, might be a lesbian, but I also would have thought that my husband and two kids would give her a hint that, maybe not.

Anyway, she gave it a try. If I had been interested I probably would have said, "Oh really? Tell me more!" So there ya go, maybe this a good opening line!

Make sure she know you're into women (I'm assuming you are a woman)-ask her if she's going to watch the L Word reboot, tell her something about a woman you dated and see how she responds, complain about how hard it is to date as a queer/bi woman and see how she responds. If you know mutual people ask them.
