Why do people put so much emphasis on "diversity"?. I'd rather my child be in class with the best students, and on the team with the best athletes, and occupy the school with the children of the most engaged parents who can provide examples for post graduate success. I don't care what they look like or came from or their favorite ice cream flavor.

W&L is a school that has smart kids and engaged alumni and occasional social misbehavior issues. I don't think any of those 3 items is related to "diversity". It is what it is. My kids don't go there but ones that we know seem to enjoy the place and the parents like it as well. Why pick on their cup of tea?

Top schools will be 90% Asian.

That's not the diversity most people think of, considering that most Asians at those top schools aren't at socioeconomic disadvantage.

Diversity shouldn't be a metric.

I don't think "diversity" is an important criterion for most people when they think about what constitutes a "best college."

Accurate description of most SLACs, actually.

Amherst, Swarthmore, Wellesley and Pomona rank in the top 10 most diverse schools in the nation.

Because Princeton review is a useless ranking. W&L is easily a top 50 school- including universities.

Probably because it's lower than top 382 schools.
