Why do you still need a home phone? You should look into VoIP.

$70 for internet, basic TV and HBO. We also pay for Netflix.

It annoys me we can't get just internet and that it costs so much, but that's a monopoly for you.

We found they dramatically decrease the Internet speed if you don't sign up for the TV.

Remember when AOL was $19.95 a month? Good times.

Remember, you're paying twice for Internet in many cases if you have a smart phone.

I'd really like to slim down and just have internet, Nexflix, HBO Go, and Bravo on-demand. Any way to do this and save $$$?

I want to do that, but my husband won't give up MASN. He loves his Wizards...

I'm the PP with ~$95/month FIOS. If you have an XBOX, you can stream Netflix and HBO through it. Not sure about Bravo. We actually went without cable TV for a full year and just had streaming content this way. DH went to the sports bar for his games. Then, Verizon decided to double our internet bill. It went from $40 to $80/month. That's when I decided to add TV back to the mix. It wasn't much more but the fees are crazy! I think I pay $20/month, maybe more for fees. There were no fees or taxes for just internet. None for streaming content either.

it looks like he can get CSN Mid-Atlantic with the Sling Blue package ($25/month). It also includes Bravo and the NFL Network (with Red Zone). Pretty awesome. I'm going to bring it up to my DW tonight!

Sling also lets you add HBO for $15 extra per month.

Just double checked and we only pay $94.87/month. I don't rent any DVR boxes. I just rent a cable card for $5/month and run our home network from a PC.

I wish I could cut it all, but sadly we are huge sports fans and they did not offer a package for just internet and phone with decent download speeds.
We're still tethered but paying less.

I have the same Comcast package. I want to cut the cord, but internet alone is $70. When you add in streaming you are about back to where you started.

We have Fios and kind of no-frills service (kids channels, no sports, lower speed internet, etc) yet are still paying $110 per month... starting to feel like it's not worth it.
How much is your bill? If you cut the cable cord but use a streaming service, how does it compare? Did you have to upgrade your internet to make it work well?
