Op you are really over reacting. I was married in TX. I planned a wedding from here in DC with no or little help. Things just happen. You have to let it go.

Looking back on my wedding which was in Feb., I was so grateful my grandfather was there and was still able to marry us. He passed away in June so that to me was the most important. The cake/flowers are just things not the real important stuff.

Move on and enjoy your new life.

Sadly, wedding vendors too often fail to come through. They must not be anticipating repeat business. Guests can also be insensitive.

I'm so sorry for the flood during your wedding =[ I sure wanted an outside wedding and to avoid all the stress that goes with it I sucked it up and had inside...
To the other PP, you're right... I ate the cake, it was good and the kids had fun anyway...

All my vendors complimented my behavior and they were surprised to see how I handled and overcame all the issues we had during planning - by the way I didn't have a wedding planner. We all developed a relationship and several got my information to pass along regarding my profession.

I'd say relax about the cake and the flowers. Trust me, I loved my wedding, but on the backend learned about multiple problems that arose. It happens.

As for the bouquet, I sympathize. Mine is preserved and hangs in our home, so I know that's special. Is there any chance that it was picked up by an overly ambitious waitstaff/cleaning crew that was clearing tables as the reception was winding down? Otherwise, maybe a quick, kind non-accusatory email to female family members and bridesmaids "hey ladies, any chance anyone picked up my bouquet for me? I accidentally left it behind and am hoping someone picked it up for me".

I got married during a flood. In Pennsylvania. As I stood on the dance floor, explaning to the fire/rescue people why I would like to cut the cake before being evacuated, one thing occurred to me:

Gee, I'm really glad I didn't sweat the small stuff, because NOTHING worked out for me, except holding the actual ceremony in front of family and friends (and a river headed to 12 feet over flood stage). That was the important part, nothing else mattered.

It is disappointing when things don't go as planned, but maybe you're putting too much emotion into small details.

Thank you all who all that came to my wedding last weekend. It was definitely they most beautiful day of my life and only because YOU were there!!!

Now, that I know that most of you here were not there let me vent...

Hm... let's start with the cake... chocolate was good but I ORDERED DARK FOREST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the chocolate filling with chocolate cake was just too much!
The ribbons around it were supposed to be RIBBONS not fondant strips - it looked HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! didn't you have any kind of tool to help you at least to cut it straight????????
And the layer of fondant on top of the cake was so thin that I could see through it!!

oh well... it could be worse, at least the cake didn't fall or melted... I've seen terrible wedding cake tales... LOL

To the person who delivered the flowers - remember that huge box I gave you and asked you to bring with you to the reception site? THAT BOX WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DELIVERED WITH THE FLOWERS!!!! all my chair sashes, the kids prizes, my bouquet support for the sweet heart table, the decoration for the tables... EVERYTHING WAS THERE!!!
Thanks heaven nobody knew we were supposed to have glow sticks and disposable cameras for the kids to play with... nobody expected chair decorations or sparkling things all over the tables... *sigh*

now, last but not least... TO THE "BEACH" WHO TOOK MY BOUQUET... If I were not a true Christian, if my lord Jesus Christ didn't asked me to love my enemy I would curse you NOW! I would curse you for the rest of your life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why in this world you took my bouquet???? it was sitting there on MY TABLE! Who in this planet takes the bride's bouquet? oh well... I sure didn't do things how the tradition asks - instead of trowing the "throw bouquet" I gave it to my dear friend because we promised to each other that whoever got married first would do that. Did you get jealous? is that why you took my bouquet????
I'm in tears right now... I had the preservation all set up to save it and take it to my home country to show to my grandma and my mom during my honeymoon but BECAUSE OF YOU all they'll see is pictures... I feel like screaming right now!!!

Now, to the very nice women here... all the classy ladies that know it all about etiquette...
How do I ask politely if someone took it AS A MISTAKE to return it to me so I can preserve it ASAP???????????
