You can't buy more time

I'm staying in a job (that I have been in forever) even with an hour (each way) commute. I have amazing co-workers and a great work culture. If I have to be somewhere 8 hrs/day, I better well enjoy my time there and the people I have to be around.

I had a 30-45 minute commute and left for a 5 minute commute and even though the commute was awesome- the company and cu!true sucked. I did it for over a year and recent!y went back to my former company.

Do you have kids? I'm leaving my current job where my commute is 1 hour for one closer to home (still law) for slightly less pay because I'm sick of not seeing my kids enough. I was fine with the commute before I had kids, though.

I just left a company after 1.5 years that was a minor commute increase (10 minutes to 30 minutes, but moving, not sitting in traffic) and a major pay increase, due to team & company culture....
I was however, able to leverage that major raise moving to my new position. But commute now less desirable.

May be worth pursuing if you have other options to leave, if you're going to be trapped there I wouldn't. Company culture can be soul sucking, so much more than commute for something you enjoy.

I work for a stable company with a great culture but I have an hour commute. I've been given the opportunity to interview for a new position with a company that is closeer to home and potentially more money. Culturally, I'm not quite sure about the other company either.... Everyone in my immediate circle says not to leave.

What would you do??
