Thank you for giving me hope, PP! Spouse is from a very (very) old fashioned, paternalistic, non-sensical background - needs someone to talk to, needs to own his sh!t (needs someone to hold him accountable that he does not have a perfect family, nor does anyone), then get on with it, so to speak. Do you have a recommendation on person or product?


Does your spouse recognize this and agree he needs to talk to someone? Because if not, therapy tends to not work well. And sorry, we lived near Boston at the time.

If so, how? Presumably a professional - was it a licsw, PhD or psychiatrist? Was he successful talking to another man (instead of a woman in one of those professions)?
