Either will be fine. I would say pick Raymond for the convenience

The Reggio program at Friendship Armstrong is phenomenal! It doesn't go all the way through, but they have some of the same staff that the Reggio program at CAPCS-Dorothy Height had before they closed.

Have you visited Friendship? That seems the best way to figure this out. Some people on this board will have experience with one or the other, but most will have experience with neither and likely no one will have experience with both.

If you didn't like Raymond I cannot imagine you'd like Friendship Armstrong more. Certainly not enough more to drive further. OP, go with private day care this year and try again for PK4. You'll like Eaton for K, if it comes to that.

Raymond is fine for prek 3. The teachers are really nice and helpful. We were in prek 4 this year. DS's teacher is moving back to prek3. She is fantastic. However you won't get much information or a welcoming attitude from The administration. The are very hands off with parents and hard to get in contact with. No real newsletter from admin and will tell you very limited information about any fire drills, etc that may happen. It's also extended year so you need to keep that in mind too.

We aren't staying for kindergarten. Just wasn't for us. But totally fine for pre-k

I think it isn't worth it. FA is fine but so is Raymond.

Are you the PP with the really long list from before? What are your numbers now?

Why didn't you like Raymond?

Most DC schools do Pk3 well.

We just moved to Cleveland Park so we had to apply post lottery for PK3. I basically added almost all schools in the best 2 schools we were offered so far are Raymond and Friendship Armstrong. Raymond is closer to us but we visited the school and it didn't seem like a great place to send our kid. I was wondering if people think driving a bit further t Armstrong is worth it or not.

We also considered the private option but that proved to be very expensive at around $20k/yr!
