We have an Odyssey, but... 6yo in back seat, 3yo and infant in the middle row. There's enough space with the sliding door open to stand on the outside and reach back into the third row to make sure the harness is buckled properly.

I've personally done several of these.

I have my 4 and 6 year old in the back. Two year old is still rear facing in captain chair behind driver. chair behind passanher side is just always moved up for easier access to the back. 4th is due in a month, so 2 year old will move to the back with 4 year old and 6 year old will move up to middle. Her booster will be more flexible when we need to move the seat back and forth.

We have 2 older kids in the back row and baby in one of the buckets, which leaves one empty bucket seat for carpool or another adult. I ride in that seat on long car trips so I can deal with the kids easily while DH drives or vice versa.

Same - 6 months, 2.5 years in the middle, 4.5 years in the back, buckles herself...we check periodically.

We will soon have 3 kids in car seats - 2 in FF 5 point harness seats and on RF in an infant bucket seat. The 5 year old can buckle himself (although we check his work before leaving).

How do you have your kids' carseats set up in your Toyota Sienna or other mini van? 3 across in the middle? Biggest kid in the way back? But then do you get in each time to check that he buckled himself in properly?
