First of all, thanks for asking this question. Being a single father can be super challenging, and looking for a support group shows you want to be a strong dad. In fact, this short article (http://bit.ly/2veE8Wq) proves you are doing the right thing. It also has a toll free phone number to someone who might be able to help you locate the kind of support group you are looking for in your area. I’m praying you find a great group to help you.

You could start your own. Seriously. Just a DCUM meetup at a coffee shop. You are all posting here, so there is that in common already. Support groups are not "required" to be professionally conducted or led. Though I bet you could find a practicing LCSW who would do this once or twice a week for a small contribution from each of the attendees.

You've found a gap. Fill it!

Took new beginnings divorce 101 class. It was helpful. In Montgomery county. Classes offered fall and spring.

Holy Trinity RC Church in Georgetown has a support group for separated and divorced Catholics.

Thanks. My guess is that such groups are hard to find because people are at different stages and eventually leave them behind. I'll take a look at the suggestions; I think I might of have stumbled on a few of them before. It's too bad they seem few and far between -- both listening and talking would be so helpful in this situation and there is only so much you can burden friends and family with, especially if they aren't going through it.

I can't find one that meets in a place or time that could work for me and my kids. I wonder if online versions of divorce support groups exist.

They do.

I recommend parents of both sexes check out Dad's' Divorce which is hosted by a law firm. If you are a biological or adoptive mom, I suggest adopted a gender neutral username. The overall tone and some frequent users are pretty anti-mom, but I learned so much about the techniques that my ex was using that I was able to successfully counter his last round of dragging me to court without a lawyer.

Cool story bra

They're surprisingly difficult to find. I am a mom going through divorce and I also haven't found much.

There seems to be nothing for single fathers.
