We are also at Columbia - while their front office and billing have been issues- fortunately all has gone well with the lab. We had frozen blasts there for several years and just had a successful transfer to our surrogate recently.

Thank you for both of your replies. This person had embryos that didn't make it through the thaw and she is convinced it's because CF's lab is as disorganized as their front office is. And there is an element of that reasoning I can get. The only reason we are with CFA is because Dr. Sacks is so chill, always available and came recommended. I'm not impressed with their billing or front office either. But assumed that was different from the lab.

I'm a former Columbia patient, who had frozen blasts with them for quite a while. I had no issues w/ their lab, had more successful thaws than I was prepared for, and have two healthy children to show for it.

Don't let one person's bad experience scare you away. I would be pretty worried about moving blasts also and would only do that under really serious circumstances.

Sorry I don't have direct reply because i am with shady grove but surely this person's experience should be taken with a grain of salt. Did they have first hand experience with the lab (like they worked there)? If not, how were they able to come to the conclusion that CFA could not be trusted with embryos?

Hi everyone. We are working with Dr. Sacks at Columbia Fertility. I get pregnant naturally but cannot carry for an unidentifiable reason. We have frozen embryos and are now working with a surrogacy agency finalizing a contract with a gestational carrier. At a gathering last night someone told me that Columbia Fertility cannot be trusted. That I should immediately move my embryos to another facility and pray that they embryos are still good. That Columbia's back office (lab, storage) is as big of a mess as their front office is (I know they don't have the most friendly and competent front office). I am totally freaking out. Does anyone have any input? Should I move the embryos? It'll be another 4-6 months before GC process is complete. Thank you.
