What?? She's a teen. I disagree that she's an awful person. Teens do stupid stuff and we're supposed to help them.

This is pretty much what would happen in my house too. DD would REALLY need to feel the consequences in meaningful ways. Ways that are connected to the action (not a random punishment).

You should talk to your daughter and also impose consequences for her conduct. It doesn't matter if she thought she was being flip or cute. If you don't impose something meaningful, your words won't have an impact. Obviously, your distaste for this word hasn't yet penetrated her mentality.

I am white, so not 100% sure, but am thinking I would be angrier at a white girl for saying that than a black girl.

I give my daughter a Talking To any time I see she's social media friends with someone using the N word, or degrading words towards women.
