even my first pregnancy, i was wearing maternity pants around 8 wks. now on my second, i probably brought them out around 6 wks. i am now 5 mos and look about 7 mo. baby is measuring exactly on target though. it just happens. it's better to be comfy in maternity clothes than cramped in regular clothes.
I'm only 9 weeks and haven't worn a pair of regular pants since, like, 5 weeks. I've only worn dresses/skirts to work because I've been really bloated and uncomfortable.
I was shocked (and relieved!) when I went to the doctor and discovered I've only gained 3 pounds so far. Based on the way my clothes have been feeling, I was really nervous.
At 8 weeks with #2 I wore maternity pants for a few days. Then the bloating got better and I'm now just starting to wear them again at 16 weeks after realizing that even my 'big' pants were uncomfortable. I didn't wear maternity clothes until 18-20 weeks last time (and I'm petite-, 5'1", so who knows) . Everyone shows, pops, etc, differently.
I am 24 years old and only 11 weeks pregnant, i had to start with maternity jeans/pants at about week 7, i haven't gained any weight, at my last appt i had lost 12 lbs..i do think alot of it is water weight and i always feel gassy, but have no relief!!!!! i also felt like i was getting too big too fast because they say you get larger earlier with #'2 2,3,4....but this is my first... i dont know. i wouldnt feel bad, i just know i have to come out to every one soon, maternity clothing is hard to hide, it all looks like "maternity" clothing....ugh!
Agree with the posters that suggest water retention and bloating.
I am 7 1/2 weeks and realize today I have a smaller belly that in days past. No doubt I am bloated, considering I have been eating grains, dairy and sugar for the past three weeks. (Nausea is a killer.)
I was in it so early too! I'm now 15 weeks and I look like I'm over 5 months. I hear it levels later with the second, but I just keep getting bigger and bigger.
I am in the same boat, six weeks & my regular pants are killing me. This is my 4th pregnancy & my doctor said the more babies u've had & how close they are is a factor. My 3rd baby is 14months old so I didn't wait very long. Lol remember everybody is different & ignore dumb comments from people. The important thing is for you to be comfortable!
I didn't wear maternity, but was extremely bloated starting at 6 weeks, so relatively flat stomach in the am and huge by the pm. tons of water and some gas pills helped. the bloating calmed by 13 weeks, but then at 18 I got a real baby belly so was in maternity.
I had the same experience this time around. I was into my maternity jeans and pants by 7 or 8 weeks. My belly just popped and it was instantly uncomfortable to wear regular pants. My OB assured me it was totally normal. I'm now about 29 weeks and have gained 18 pounds, so I'm on target for about a 25 pound total weight gain. Don't worry, just be comfortable!
I'm only 6 weeks pregnant and cannot wear any of my regular clothes. Last pregnancy, I did not start wearing maternity clothes until 12 weeks. Worried that I'll gain too much weight this time around.
