Jeez. So much misinformation here. It would be so awesome if someone could just ANSWER the OP. I'm sure he/she is looking for more than it has a notre dame inferiority complex. And he/she can look up the rankings.

What a stupid comment. Define "good school" and what aspects of "good school" do you feel are lacking? And, on what are you basing your decision? I went to a top 10 U and have been very impressed with what I have seen at BC.

Oops. That should be #32

Of the Jesuit schools I belive the ranking would be Notre Dame, Georgetown, Holy Cross and Boston College.

So what, they're all very good.

By DCUM's lights it appears BC is not the hot destination this year like Pomona and Carleton.

I believe BC is ranking higher than all those colleges in the US lists. There is no "Jesuit" ranking.

well, you''d be wrong.

Can you say why he felt "right at home there"? We're going to visit also, but it's summertime, I don't know if we'll get a real feel for the place when few students are around.

I don't see a lot of discussion here about this school, and didn't come up with much via the archives. My DC toured the school last week and seemed to feel right at home there. He is currently in a Jesuit high school, so that may be one of the reasons he relates so well to the culture. He has no idea what he wants for a major at this point (he is only a rising junior). His strengths are math and science. Excellent student with very high ACT/SAT mock test scores which already well exceed the requirements of admission and most universities.
