Get the plug in x5. It's amazing & I never get gas (battery does not have huge range, but plenty for city...can use gas for trips)

BMW makes great cars. This is not one of their great cars.

But what do I know, we just bought a new Discovery, also not a DCUM crowd favorite. Albeit a car of the year pick. Just buy what you like, don't crowdsource here where everyone thinks yu should drive a 10 year old camry.
