Exactly why. An obese woman is going to know that and work harder. Society is very tough on female obesity, not so for male obesity. So I don't think he would work as hard, to say the least


If you're morbidly obese I think it is hard on either gender.

Exactly why. An obese woman is going to know that and work harder. Society is very tough on female obesity, not so for male obesity. So I don't think he would work as hard, to say the least

I'm technically morbidly obese. I have no problems at work related to weight. I don't need a special chair, I don't have knee problems, and granted, I AM currently eating food at my desk right now, but it's almonds.

Don't chalk his not getting hired up to his weight. I do think that can contribute to a feeling of slight discomfort in the interviews, but if he's well-dressed they should be able to see beyond that to his skills, personality and what he brings to the table.


Yes, it is desk work. He was laid off recently (many layoffs here) and has had many interviews - he's amazing on paper and has such a charismatic personality. I can't figure out why no one is biting but I wonder if it is the weight.

He's smart, very competent and has a great sense of humor. He has tons of good references. He dresses well considering his girth. He's getting tons of interviews but no offers.
