Interesting...I work at a previous bank and our comp structure is totally different. All customer facing roles. At the VP and SVP levels the max salary is $200k and the rest is bonus. VP is 1-3x and SVP is 2-5. I believe EVP is base $350 and bonus is much h higher. I have no clue on tech or back office/HQ salaries. Benefits are similar - remote work for everyone, basically unlimited vacation, etc.

I went through the whole interview process and was disappointed in the salary offer for a tech role. I had been clear what my current salary was (and my current company had much better benefits) and they still came in low in the offer and across the industry.

I turned it down.

Also, I was shocked at the lack of experience with some of the people on the team. It seemed that everyone was cool with the fact that you passed some weird set of tests but had no actual experience.

DH is a manager in technical role. Makes $130k and like $20k bonus.

What about salaries for tech jobs? Esp in Tysons?

Officially no, on paper it's 3 or 4 weeks - I forget. But no one tracks it, so in a practical sense it is. When I worked there I probably took 6-8 weeks a year, at least.

I don't know them quite as well sorry. My anecdotal #s are they are higher at the manager and sr manager levels for digital roles, but generally lower bonus structure.

My DH (an attorney) had an offer there. Salary was well below market. Hours/perks seemed good but the pay just wasn't there.

I work with a lot of Cap one teams. It's hard to get hired there but people there love it and it's a very collaborative, friendly, and flexible work environment. The company takes good care of its employees and values customers, too,

Working at Capital One is awesome. Hours are 9-5, unlimited sick leave, and taking an hour here or there for a school meeting doesn't count against PTO. Telework is totally within the norm, so long as you don't have a lot of meetings. 15 days of free back-up care. Pay is good. You get real feedback and professional development opportunities.

I think my work is really meaningful, I'm learning a lot, and it's a great place to grow. I feel valued. It's honestly the best place I've ever worked. It's not perfect, but I haven't seen better.

The location info posted by PP was true a couple years ago, but not so much now. Our locations are expanding but we're decreasing our Richmond footprint.

DH has been there since the CCB acquisition. Hard to get in. Decent pay, good bonuses. He has a ton of flexibility, telecommutes whenever he wants, our health insurance is dirt cheap, lots of PTO, etc. I do occasionally worry about layoffs, but I guess that comes with the territory.

Hard to get hired there, from everything I hear. It's a bank, so there are some good benefits and pay, especially if you're in a Richmond vs Tysons. Most of marketing is in Richmond, but most of the tech and bank jobs are in Tysons.

How flexible are they with telework? Families? Hours?
