If you look at her objectively I doubt she'd be considered a natural beauty according to western beauty standards. She was too tall and athletic looking, long prominent nose, large pores, short frumpy hair.
But there is just something ethereal and attractive about her. She is just so naturally...majestic.

I think the public became fascinated with Di bc she was relatable (just as Kate, William, and Harry are) which is totally opposite of the centuries of royals before her. Plus, she used her star power and money to serve others via charity. Humbling indeed. Again, totally debunking the stuffiness and prim-n-properness of the Crown.
