Not sure of your kids "adventure" levels, but if they might want a tamer amusement park experience, Idlewild in Ligonier (about an hour or so outside of the city) is a great option; if they like the water, Sandcastle water park is fun! Also second the Carnegie Science Center and Natural History Museum -- the dino exhibit is really something! The zoo is great, too -- there are penguins and a huge kids play area. Love PNC Park - cheap seats and beautiful views of the skyline.

Definitely do the incline (will be a quick part of a day), and two other museum recs are the Children's Museum and Heinz History Center. There are also some options for the rivers -- the Gateway Clipper fleet out of Station Square does boat tours, and I think there is still the Ducky land/water tours, too.

While you're there, in addition to checking out the Strip District's food samplings, stop by a Primanti Bros for the traditional sandwich with fries and coleslaw on top

Have fun!

My kid LOVES this place. Plus it has a waterpark too.

We also had fun just to walking the jogging path along the river from the baseball stadium up past the statute of Mr rogers. There was a big fountain that all the local kids were splashing in and mine jumped in as well and had a ball.

The Zoo-it is one of the best in the country and I'm pretty sure that they just had a baby elephant. The absolute best part is the polar bears. The kids won't be disappointed.

Kenywood park is fun-they have a beautiful carousel and old fashioned wooden roller coasters.

The Carnegie Science Center is a solid choice as well. Enjoy

Not the Warhol-little kids usually don't like to look at art. I would head to Carnegie Museum (natural history) in Oakland-big dinosaur exhibit. If you are near Mt Washington, you can ride the incline up and down and get a fabulous view of the city.

Cathedral of Learning is really cool. My dad was a professor so we spent lots of time "playing" in there.

Do the incline! Then sit up at the top and enjoy the view with a pop and some fries.

Aviary is good. Point State Park. Strip District (get a lobster roll from Wholeys) Pirates game are really cheap and PNC is the best stadium in MLB

Hi - we've heard how fam friendly Pitt is and have decided to spend 2 nights, 3 days driving there in a couple weeks before we head to Wild Wood in NJ for a couple days.

Would LOVE suggestions on top places to see/go. Our daughter is 5 1/2 and son is 7 1/2. Looks the the aquarium and museum are top draws. Anything off the beaten path or even better than these outings?

Thanks!
