My friend switches custody every Wednesday, no questions asked. If birthdays/holidays/whatever fall during one parent's time, then so be it. It leaves for zero fighting between the exes.

His bio sons will find another dad figure eventually and replace him op. It will be sad, but at least you will hopefully be there for the boys.

In my family, this is pretty much the norm...dad's abandon their bio children if the get divorced, and replace them with the new wife's step kids. Not sure why, just seems to work that way.

I don't know OP's post history, but it doesn't sound like she doesn't want her brother to stop seeing his stepchildren. She wants him not to neglect his biological children. Why couldn't he have had both sets of kids over for the day?

Just out of curiosity, why weren't his stepkids with their biological father today?

My loser ex chose to not see his kids this weekend because his girlfriend's children were with their dad. Kid free for both - why not I guess.

Some people are selfish and bad parents. Be as kind and friendly to his ex as possible (she might not be open to friendship or your idiot brother might try to make it awkward), and always be a good aunt to the kids. That's all you can do, but the kids will know you were there for them. It won't be for nothing.

Thank you for not making excused for him OP, and calling him the loser he is too many women on this site make excuses for deadbeat dads and their new marriages.

He spent today with his step sons at the expense of his own biological sons. They all live a mile apart.

That's all. He just makes me ache for my nephews....
