Something edible, so there isn't some sentimental trinket he's forced to keep around. Nuts, candy, and/or booze. The craft beer suggestion is really great if that's his thing.

Whatever you do, do not force him to attend some family meal/picnic thing. Most men don't really think that's a fun way to spend father's day.

oops, 20:23 here.

I'd go with the beer or wine if that seems more appropriate. Coffee if he is not one who drinks. Plus a card.

I kind of forgot about my father. But he's old and won't mind. I will call him in the morning.

I don't live near my Dad unfortunately, but I sent him a terrarium from a local florist. I hope he likes it. They live on a farm and have a ton of plants. It was only $24!

My guys, especially my dad, want nothing.

However, I'd like to get a little something. If I keep it under $20, it won't be noticable (avoiding "you didn't have to spend on me!") but I'll feel good that I gave him a gift.

Then again, I don't want to give junk that he won't use, because, again, he'll notice, and he'll grumble that I shouldn't have done it.

Ideas?

I got my dad an Izod polo shirt from Costco. I think it was $15.

Just having my kids with me that day is a present that is priceless.

Not for my father, or my DH, but I am buying that for my son. He thanks you.

I just noticed the cat has blue, starry eyes. Glad I could help.
