I would recommend books by Lucy Clarke, especially if you are traveling.

Try Tana French 's Dublin Murder Squad series. They are excellent. The most recent book made it on to the New York Times list of the best novels of 2016. They are character driven, and not typical crime procedurals.

I've recently discovered Jane Thynne, and I abolutely love her series of Clara Vine novels. They are set in 1930s Berlin, so if you like historical fiction, you may like these books. The Susan Elia Macneal books are similar (but set in WWII London), and are also very entertaining.

And if you are looking for something historical, but light, check out the Royal Spyness series by Rhys Bowen. Really enjoyable, easy reads. Perfect for vacation.

I also like the Ruth Galloway books written by Elly Griffiths.

I recently read this and it'd be a good vacation read. It's also the first in a series so if you like it you can get the next two.

If you need something engrossing that isn't total fluff, The Tea Rose is one of my favorites. It's historical fiction. I've recommended to many people and all of them have loved it.

If you want a psychological thriller, I've recently enjoyed Behind Closed Doors. Also The Couple Next Door.

I like Sarah Pekkanen for lighter books with some substance. Also Taylor Jenkins Reid. Diane Chamberlain is similar to Jodi Picoult. I've loved most of hers. The Secret Life of CeCe Wilkes, The Midwife's Confession and The Bay at Midnight are two of my favorites of hers.

I'll echo what others said about the Kindle Paperwhite. I take mine everywhere I go. I can't imagine traveling with actual books now that I have an e-reader.

The Outlander series. Sigh.

Highly recommend the kindle paperwhite! It stores a ton, the screen is sink, so it's easy on the eyes, and it holds a charge for a month!

I really enjoyed reading Crazy Rich Asians while I was on vacation.

I really like the Kindle paperwhite, especially for traveling. You bring one physical book not a dozen, and you can download new books anywhere there is wifi. I find the screen very easy to read (no glare), but with the benefit that I can read in the dark if my partner is asleep.

I read a lot of fantasy, including YA. Some books I've read recently that are not too "out there," fantasy-wise, and that are page-turners: The Girl from Everywhere, Uprooted, The Hundredth Queen, the All Souls trilogy, the Innkeeper Chronicles, and Sunshine (Robin McKinley). I also like the Brothers Sinister series by Courtney Milan, which is smutty historical fiction.

I Am Pilgrim - not in any of the genres you mentioned, but a great, suspenseful read. Long, too. I think.

The Cormoran Strike trilogy by Robert Galbreath, aka JK Rowling. Page turners about a captivating British detective.

I am going on vacation for two months and need to bring some books with me.

I like page turners like Jodi picoult, also really liked eat pray love and wild (I know that's not great literature, but I found them be to enjoyable reads). I read hillbilly elegy and enjoyed that as well, and have liked history / historical fiction books.

They don't have to be books like this, just looking for a very engaging books as well as some fun reads.

I don't have an E reader, so I want to get some actual books to bring. I actually have a Kindle fire, but I have not liked reading on it due to the screen. Maybe investing in a Kindle paperwhite would be worth it for this trip.
