So any repairs basically deplete any value left.

Motor detonates you can swap in a lower mileage junk yard
Motor and keep going.

I have a 2005 Pilot with 355,000 miles on it. It runs fine for the most part. Along the way, I've had to do repairs on a back window that fell down, the AC, the back windshield wiper motor is out. I've just had the battery cables replaced (thought the starter had gone out) and the power steering is going. My mechanic said there's other repairs that are needed that exceed the value of the car, so I've started car shopping.

2007 Pilot with 116,000 miles on it. My family doesn't understand why we haven't traded it in yet... it's still going strong. Just needs brakes and tires regularly.

I agree with your husband. I have a 2009 and it will certainly last me more than 2 more years. My last Honda, an Accord, lasted 16 before we sold it!

I have a 13 year old Honda and have had no issues so far. As long as you are not taking regular road trips and have AAA, I'd keep it until it's really in bad shape. It's lovely not to have car payments.

My 2009 Honda Odyssey has close to 100K and is still going strong. It has never broken down on me (knock on wood).

I am not a car person and I do not know how to work on cars myself. I think that if you are doing the regular suggested maintenance on your vehicle - that will help your vehicle to last longer w/o the inconvenience of break downs.

However, a 2007 vehicle (even a Honda) with 220K miles on it...I would not want that to be my primary mode of transportation. I would definitely want a backup car.

Hondas are built to last.

EXCELLENT reliability is their trademark.

Our 2005 Pilot has 140K. We're expecting another 60K out of it.

My 2006 Honda Cr-V has 80k miles and I'm trying to tell my husband it's unsafe. He's not buying it.

I haven't had to do any repairs outside of routine maintenance.

Pretty cool you got 220K. I got 150k out of my Civic and it probably would have gone double that. I still sold it for a great price.

I love Hondas for this reason. They are so reliable.

Ours was a '07 with about the same mileage. We just replaced it because the repairs were exceeding the value of the car. That said, we drove it on the NC beach a lot which is very hard on a car.

Ours is from 2004 and is still going strong. I have no idea about mileage though. It has never needed any mayor repairs or left me stranded.

We have a 2007 Pilot with 220,000 miles. We maintain it regularly and tend to keep cars until they die.

My husband claims that our Pilot "has a lot of life left." I feel like we are reaching the end, simply due to the high mileage. I am also concerned about getting stranded somewhere.

Any personal stories?
