Second vote for Dr. Wood at Hopkins. Everyone there is wonderful; it is worth the drive.

I'm sure you won't like my recommendation, but the only allergist we have been happy with his doctor would up at Johns Hopkins. We take the truck there annually because he is worth it.

Scarupa and Ecomides are in the same practice. Sounds like OP doesn't like that practice. My DS goes to Scarupa for yearly visits for a food allergy. I wish he would be a little more open to OiT since no doctors near hear so it but other than that we are happy with him.

They have gone downhill over the years--grown too fast. I would be interested in small group or less hectic practices as well.

I've always found Economides to be very nice & good with kids (but not sure if she counts as "one of the big ones")

Anyone see an allergist downcounty in MD who works well with your SN child? We see a doc at one of the big ones and each experience just gets worse and worse. Doc and her staff give off a frustrated and annoyed vibe when treating DS and aren't at all compassionate with DS's fears surrounding blood draws, or talking about weekly allergy shots, etc. We need to start shots soon, but I can imagine doing so in this awful environment. Thanks!
