The dirty secret for many of the good programs is that the best way to get on the teams isn't through the big try-outs.
As a PP mentioned, email the club directors, and they'll tell you what to do.
If you get into town early enough, try the Bethesda Soccer Club camps...either elite, or day depending on date. That'll get them seen by the coaches.

Then they'll probably have you take the kids to a few practices in the fall, and see what level they're at.
Good players around here will always find a team.

What are their birth years? What positions do they play? Generally there is ALWAYS space for really talented kids.

When my daughter played for Bethesda in high school a couple of years ago, the feel was $2,300 plus uniforms. The older DA age groups fees are cheaper--around $1,200 a year, though you pay bus or plane fees for some games and showcases.

BSC is $3,000 per kids per year...at least.

Be prepared to spend $2000-$2500 per year for the teams mentioned above.

We are with Potomac Soccer and very happy. They will take kids in the summer if they are real standouts. However, based on your description, you may prefer Bethesda. I think the level of play is a bit higher on the top teams.

If your kids are very good players, which it sounds like they are, there will be room for them on one of the area teams. I'd recommend that you start with Bethesda Soccer Club. Other relatively close options are Potomac Soccer Club, and Stoddert Soccer in DC. If your older child is interested trying out for the Development Academy, both Bethesda and DC United have teams in his age group.

Since you are coming in the summer, I imagine that the clubs would suggest that you come out for one of their July or August camps or clinics for an evaluation; otherwise, you'd probably need to wait until practices start up at the end of August.

So it's likely we may relocate to DC (Bethesda area) next Summer (July). Our two sons (ages 12 and 9) have been playing at a very competitive level in Europe for years but I'm getting the impression that most of the travel teams have tryouts in the Spring for the upcoming Fall season.
