We have the fllo and have a cheap travel seat. We don't even travel that much but no way we are bringing the fllo with us. If you have the space, totally worth it.

Your are right. We live in a 900 square foot house. 1400 feet would be so nice. Want to trade square footage -that would be a huge increase for us. We had a corroco and then we had a safety first go hybrid for travel. You can get lightweight seats. We have 3 cars now, two when child was little. We kept an old car. And, grandparent cars as well.

Makes sense! Thanks for the reco! We only have one car because we live in the District and street park, and haven't needed a second. However, when and if we have a second child we will probably go to two cars because we'll need a bigger car with two kids but will not have any reason to get rid of our trusty little Subaru. We will need to have moved to somewhere with parking by that point.

I have a britax blvd in my car and it's really heavy and I also want to keep it "safe" (for lack of a better word) so I got a Cosco scenera for travel due to its very light weight. We travel quite a bit, it seems like we go somewhere once a month so I like not having to move the Britax. I don't love the seat but I highly recommend the concept. i have a large storage closet that I keep it in but even without that I would make a space because I would never use a rental seat and I'm very paranoid abut my everyday seat, on top of the fact that we travel frequently.

Yes, we have a Chicco NextFit for everyday use and an Evenflo Maestro (FF only) for travel. However, I never found a travel RF seat I was happy with -- hated the Cosco Scenera -- so we flew once or twice with the NextFit. It's bulky but if you are traveling with someone who can carry it down the aisle that is the only really hard part. We got a GoGoBaby to wheel it around the airport, and we use that with the Maestro too even though the Maestro is light.

Oh please don't do this, I've heard stories about expired car seats, the wrong type of car seat, filthy car seats, etc... from rental companies.

We have always had two car seats for daily use and one additional lightweight cheap car seat for travel. So, no I don't think it's crazy!

Not crazy at all. Hauling a heavy seat while traveling will make you want to pull out your hair. My issue, though, is that my cheap seat (Evenflo Sureride) doesn't feel as sturdy as my heavy seat (Britax Advocate CT), so I hate using it.

I want the Clek Fllo, which overall seems like it has most of the features I want. However, we go to the west coast and Europe each once/year to see family and take a couple of smaller trips too usually (via air). Would it be crazy to get the Fllo just to keep in our car and then get the Cosco or Evenflo just for traveling with? The main issue is storage - i.e., we don't have much. Thoughts?
