While I don't know where OP is coming from, I don't think the traffic situation is necessarily as bad as you suggest. We go to TRY. Our drive is about 15 minutes from our house near Union Station on a weekday -- only a few minutes more than it is on a weekend/holiday -- the fastest we can get there is like 10-12 minutes. H Street and Maryland Ave, while both commuting routes, can be crowded but move well in general, and there are many bailout/alternative routes.
FWIW OP, we adore TRY. I would recommend it wholeheartedly.
How are the Music/ Spanish/ Dramatics specials? We have been especially pleased with the quality of specials that our child got at our IB school...
What stands out to you most about TRY? Anything you would change?
Thanks!

If people don't invest in their neighborhood schools, how are they ever going to improve? Why on earth would you want to drive 10-12 (most likely with absolutely no traffic, so I would anticipate more like 30 minutes each way) than walk 5 minutes? People talk about investing in local products...your inbounds school is one of the best ways to improve your community. If it comes down to economics for you, your house value will only improve as your neighborhood school improves.
