There are very few IBs that are "very bad" for ECE.
Yes. My son goes to a "very bad" school and the ece program is amazing. We love it.
Of course you do. It's hard to ruin ECE. How do you feel about the very bad testing scores in the learning grades and the influence of low expectations on your son's idea of education?
I have high expectations, but YMMV.

I went on a few school websites and it seems that open houses are only scheduled during that time. Any advice or thoughts on whether they might start scheduling open houses this summer or how to otherwise visit schools?

Then move. Seriously. Why did you move in bounds for a school that is "really bad" and doesn't meet your "high expectations" in the first place?
