You are entirely incorrect. Google up the pictures of the two bushes and you'll see the difference. It's not like I posted a picture that didn't have the name of the bush associated with it. Also, that holly bush will never work as a privacy hedge. It's a completely different plant.

Another vote for laurels. Hollies want to grow into trees. Also, laurels grow fast.

+2 on the laurels.

+1 for the laurels. Hollies grow over 6 feet and will eventually become trees that will not offer privacy at ground level.

I would also go with holly. Privets are less attractive and give off a stinky smell at times.

6 feet is good

Get some sun - more in some parts of lawn than others

Have you measured your space? How tall are you imagining--under/over 6 feet? What kind of sunlight do you get?

Can anyone recommend good privacy hedges besides boxwoods? Do privets grow well in this area? Also I don't want anything that attracts mosquitoes and if possible is there any type of hedge that repels mosquitos? Thank you.
