I used to drive between DC and Pgh weekly, and one way to get through it was to resist making any stops. There's an Amish market somewhere along 68 (a much prettier drive than the Turnpike) that I was always tempted to try, though. And I understand there's a decent Italian restaurant in Cumberland.

We always would stop in Hagerstown. There is a mall just off of 81. Nothing great.

No, but you should stop off in Monroeville at Moio's Italian pastry shop. Closed on Monday for baking.
