UMUC but my husband did a few classes and thought they were pretty crappy. It is very instructor dependent. There is little teaching and mainly online discussions. Very few of the "professors" actually participated in the discussions and most people just posted minimally to get the required number of posts.

I teach for UMUC. Don't make the mistake of thinking online learning is easy. Yes, it's more flexible in terms of when you can learn, but it is really hard.

It requires dedication from the student and a willingness to really learn on their own. I provide lecture notes and facilitate discussions but they are not real time. So you may ask a question and 48 hours later someone will respond. But by then the kids have soccer, you and your husband have had a fight, and the babysitter just cancelled for next week. So you don't remember to log back on and respond.

Both schools have open enrollment policies so the caliber of student can vary.

You sound like the commercials pp. Neither is great

I finished at UMUC and worried what would employers think but to my surprise every interview I have been on has made positive comments on it and found out that many companies send their employees there for graduate degrees while still working.

What are you trying to do in the end, job wise?

I'm attempting to finish my BA after dropping out of college during my senior year seven years ago due to the financial crash. I know neither school lacks brand-name appeal but they are both inexpensive, and I'd like to try and finish without taking on any student loan debt. I was a good student before I dropped out.
UDC is the cheaper of the two, but UMUC's online format and accreditation through the Maryland school system appeals to me. I have a two year old and think online classes may be easier due to the flexibility.
