Sheepishly I must say, I rarely bring my own of many items! I'll bring my own lotions - face and skin and suntan. Every house in which I've been a guest has had shampoo, conditioner, and toothpaste in the guest bathroom.

Also, as a host, I readily provide lotion, toothpaste, mouthwash, and q-tips, along with shampoo and conditioner and use of a hairdryer.

I always bring my own but its a mix when we have guests. We only have one bathroom so everything is easily accessible.

I had a frequent guest that never brought a hair dryer too. Bought a spare and keep it in the guest bathroom now.

Bring all of my own stuff except soap.

Same. I've got soaps and stuff from European hotels, stuff from monthly boxes - people are welcome to pour through and try whatever strikes their fancy.

I bring my own things but if you come to my house I can supply whatever you need including makeup.

All those beauty boxes are just waiting to be used. A friend of mine works for a makeup company and she sent me a box, 17 pound box of makeup. Foundations, concealers, lips, eyes, face powder, mascara, fake eyelashes, brow pencils, fingernail polish, stuff I will never use in my lifetime. Good stuff.

So if you happen to come over, don't bring anything. I got you covered.

I bring most things but don't usually travel with a hair dryer. We have a lot of guests at our summer house and I have sample size things in the bathrooms and full size shampoo and body wash in the showers. And of course hair dryers. They get used so I guess not everyone brings stuff.

I bring most toiletries, but I don't travel with a hair dryer. Now that almost all hotels have hair dryers, I think people have gotten out of the habit of having "travel" hair dryers (remember when that was a thing?). That said, I keep all kinds of toiletries (plus a hair dryer) in our spare bath for guests. Particularly when people are flying, it can be hard to get everything into that one quart-size ziploc.

I travel with some stuff and some stuff I hope to find/borrow.

I bring conditioner because I need a certain kind. I try to bring toothpaste, and I bring saline solution, lotion, and sunscreen if needed. I don't bring a hairdryer! I prefer to travel lighter if possible, so maybe your friend or sister or whoever is doing the same. In your shoes I'd get a little basket of guest items and whisk it out when she visits.

I don't think it's typical to travel with a hair dryer. I do bring my own toiletries but I also keep a drawer with hotel samples for guests.

I do. I don't bring soap, but do bring travel shampoo and conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste (though that is provided), lotion, hair stuff, etc.

When you are a house guest, do you bring your own toiletries? We have someone who stays with us who never brings anything of their own. She asks to borrow things like face wash, makeup remover, lotion etc. and she doesn't ask, but I know she uses my child's toothpaste because she doesn't bring any. We don't have a dedicated guest bathroom (hall bath that my child uses) so I don't have it set up like a guest bathroom. I do always keep soap, shampoo and conditioner in the shower.

She claims that she forgets to bring her own stuff when she asks me for stuff, but she "forgets" the same stuff every time. After she "forgot" her hair dryer for the 3rd time and we spent the week passing it back and forth I bought myself a new one and leave the old one in the hall bathroom. It's not that I mind providing it necessarily--I think it just bothers me that the idea behind this is that she doesn't want to spend any money on travel sized toiletries or small bottles to fill with her own toiletries so her solution is to just use my stuff.

When you're a house guest, do you bring your own toiletries?
