Don't pull them. Just keep them watered regularly while they are getting established. I had a transplant appear to die and then come back beautifully the next year. All the work is being done below the soil, in the root system. You won't see much above ground but as long as you are keeping the soil from drying out you will be fine.

I'd give it 1-2 weeks. Transplants also often have a lot of leaf area for the roots they retain. You could try pruning off a few leaves as well and that might help this plant recover. Water the transplant well, but then leave it along for a few days (you don't want to overwater and make it rot). Good luck! Hostas are generally tough so I bet it will survive.

A neighbor divided up some hostas and gave me a few clippings. I say clippings because they didn't have much root attached. I transplanted them and while they aren't turning brown or dry (still vibrant green), they are very droopy.

My mom in conversation mentioned that transplanted plants tend to droop for quite some time until they establish a root system.

How long should I give these little plants to perk up before I pull them?
