Um this isn't accurate, at least the teacher rec letter part... I don't think NCS mishandles the non 2200+ legacy kids either, they are just realistic about what colleges kids can get into and what they can't. It was good for my daughter to be told UVA realistically wasn't going to be an option even though she was a hardworking kid with good grades and scores. They took time to make her think about other fits what would be better and more realistic given her portfolio. She is very happy at another top school.

Most of the seniors this year are pretty happy with their college choices. I think 18:54 is just perpetuating an unsubstantiated rumor.

I think Hearst is one of the most beautiful buildings in Washington. I know many girls who wouldn't repeat the experience. The school seems to decide which students they support over others for colleges. I think STA does the same.

We only have experience with the lower school and our daughter has been very happy there. Teachers have been great and kind and really get to know each girl. Our daughter has made some lovely friends - sweet smart girls that are very supportive of each other. Academically we have also been impressed. Most teachers have been superb and although the girls are challenged, my daughter has not been overwhelmed but she has leaned so much - we have been impressed.
