This sounds like my DH. He wanted his kids to have beauty and intelligence genes. LOL. Helps that we had same principles, goals and outlook in life.

I didn't pick. We started dating, total random chance, and we kept going. Should we have stopped?

She did however operate differently from older women nowadays. She showed up, and kept showing up, and that's 80% of success, right?

Right place right time. Had I met her in my early 20s, it would have fizzled before I was serious. She is a great person, great mother, great personality and we are going strong 11 years later.

She had her shit together, and we agreed on so many fundamental values and life goals. The whole relationship was just "easy", from the get-go. We are not perfectly compatible, but we don't have to do 100% of everything together, and our differences provide some healthy balance for the kids.

She was just different. She challenged my perceptions about everything and made me think...but it was always fun.

There were not others. I met my wife in grad school and I knew she was the one. She's pretty and has a sweet personality. She's a SAHM.

We had been very good friends for over three years before we ever dated so I really got to know her as a person before she became my GF. She was a better friend than the women I dated during that period. Once we got together it was pretty clear to both of us that it was going to be serious. And it helped that the sex was great.
