I recently was offered a job with more pay, but is less interesting than my previous one, and i will also need to drive for 35 to 45 mins each day (could be worse depending on traffic)
My current job is based on a contract with an another company, and if they pull the plug, i'm out on my ass. But i have great work life balance, but am making about 14K less than the offer. I also currently have 25 vacay days.
I just don't want to pass up the opportunity, then get laid off and regret it. But also don't want to start all over at new place in a job that i really am not excited about.
This is a semi-rant, semi asking for advice.
If my current job was more stable, I wouldn't leave. I know that for sure.
I get it. You have an offer to a less-than-ideal job offer and your current place might be ending soon/no severance since it's a contract.
What about taking new job, doing the minimum and continuing your job search. Just say it's not a good fit if asked why still looking. Happens all the time. Companies hide important details all the time from job candidates.
