I almost didn't give my DH a second date because he talked about himself through our ENTIRE first date, nonstop. I don't think I said more than 10 words the entire time and this was a 2.5 hour date. Thankfully, I gave it another shot in the hopes he was just nervous (also, I was bored and didn't have anything to do the night he asked me out again) and it turns out he was. He's definitely a chatty guy but not the obnoxious "let me treat you to a two hour monologue about myself" jerk he seemed like on the first date.

As far as I am concerned, the only things I have in common with her is that I am very pale and tall.

I went on a date with a guy who was a friend of a friend that I'd known casually (as in saw maybe twice a year) for a couple of years. During that time, I'd had a front tooth replaced with a dental implant due to an infection. It had been a long drawn out process and I'd had to wear a flipper for close to two years and I was incredibly self conscious about it.

Within 5 minutes of the date starting, he said "Wow, your new tooth looks so good, I'd never known it was a fake if I hadn't seen you wearing that terrible flipper!" It wasn't the worst thing in the world for him to say and I get he was trying to give me a compliment but he might as well have dumped a bucket of ice water on my head, it would have had about the same effect.

"If I was casting actresses for a move, I'd cast you as an athletic, mute herione."

Dated a guy for 6 months in college. Totally in love with him. Had to be apart for the summer.

Well he dated someone else that summer... not agreed upon!! He told me near the end of the summer. I was mad, heartbroken, of course. But then I spent the rest of the summer dating other guys. Ha ha.

Turns out that girl broke up with him THE NEXT DAY.

In the fall, I reluctantly got back together with him. I took my time easing into it again. There was a boating trip involved, meeting more of his family, saying I love you.

At one point he complimented me... on how I felt. That the summer girl was skinny, and he liked how I felt different.... ahhhgG!!!?! I wanted to slap him, but I felt like he was saying it positively. So that was the "compliment." He also told me she was bulemic so yeah..

All of above is SO awkward and just the BS that a 20-21yo would experience while dating. Of course we did not stay together.
