Yes, I had a live-in boyfriend who cried when we broke up. He balled actually. I felt really bad for him and comforted him, but it reinforced for me why I was breaking up with him.

Man here. Every time in my life I broke up or got broken up with I would cry once when I was alone.

Sure, just witnessed it first hand. Husband to a wife. What we saw was a cold, clueless man with little understanding or feeling. It made us understand, for once and for all, why this whole relationship was a problem. She could not get him to feel anything. She will be better off, when she does stop crying.

That's pathetic. Grow a spine. Live your life. This isn't a dress rehearsal.

He'd done some awful stuff so I was pretty well over giving a crap about him at that point. He was crying and acting all sad that it was over but he'd hurt me so badly, I couldn't muster any sympathy.

This is why you dump them by phone or email, so you don't have to deal with them blubbering.

I have not personally experienced this, but I'd like to think I would comfort her until it seemed civilized to leave. This is, of course, assuming things are relatively amicable. I'd feel a little guilty walking out on someone in mid-wail. That's just cold.

Yes, my boyfriend cried in front of me when I broke up with him. At the moment I did not care, but now it brings tears to my eyes when I think about it (it was many years ago). We were back together after few months, still together and have very strong bond, but he goes back to that moment from time to time, it still hurts.
I am not openly apologetic, I did not like what he did at the time and I dump men easily in general, but secretly I am, very much, issue was not that serious, I just snapped.

I'm the crier.

I've usually been the crier. They usually try to comfort me but also leave.

The one time he cried, I was so over him (and he had no idea it was coming because he thought I was crazy in love with him) that I showed him to the door while he was sobbing.

I mean crying in front of you after you dump them.

"I'm sorry this is painful for you. I wish you all the best. Good-bye."

Then leave.

Did you ever have an ex girlfriend/boyfriend who cried after you dumped them? If so, what was your response?
