Thank you! I guess I'm feeling a little melancholy

I'll be 45 in June, and I have never felt old, so I don't expect to feel that way on this birthday. A good sense of humor keeps you young, you know. I have an extremely messed-up sense of humor, so I should feel young as long as I live, which considering the fact that I have a life-threatening illness, I could have 5 years, ten years, or even 20 years depending on how I play my cards. No big deal. That's life. Roll with the punches. I am a deep thinker anyway, so my birthday is really no different from any other day.

My birthday is in June and I always use the time to reflect and assess goals and spend time thinking. I frequently (solo), even if it's a long weekend to someplace not too far away. I'm 43 and like my birthday more now than I did when I was in my 20s/30s.

Usually it starts with feeling sorry for myself and bemoaning what I didn't accomplish that year and all the time that I wasted.

Since I hit 25 I have felt like that. I am 31 now and hate birthdays.

Tomorrow is my 34th birthday. I took Monday off (just me rest of the family will be at work or school) and I am feeling very introspective.
Do you all do anything on your birthday? Taking stock of your life/accomplishments? Making plans for the coming year of your life?
