Really, all that discussion of lying and cheating and corruption was only about gerrymandering? Odd, because A. Gerrymandering is a widely accepted part of American politics B. It is not illegal (as long as no racial impact). C. It is much more widely done by the GOP today, despite the example of Maryland.

It's sad that the ONLY way democrats can win in places that are 50/50 splits is by lying and cheating. In heavily democrat districts, it doesn't matte, people expect that sort of corruption and embrace it. But in places where there's a even mix, it almost always favors republicans.

Look at the sixth district in Maryland. The ONLY way the democrats could win that district was to expand it one hundred and fifty miles and add fifty thousand more democrats to it. That was the ONLY way they could win it.

Md is gerrymandered to favor the Dems, while dozens of states are gerrymandered to favor the GOP.

I am pretty sure Md Dems would be willing to agree with other states to neutral redistricting commissions for ALL congressional seats.

I mean if GOP in Virginia is afraid of Dem gerrymandering some day, they can agree to amend the Va constitution for neutral redistricting.

I care that Democrats win elections all across the country, replacing Republicans, too many of whom have made a pact with the Devil by signing onto the Trump fiasco. Virginia is a purple state, but with enough Democratic support, it can turn blue. Every election counts, even small ones.

There was a special election today in Prince William County: a democrat won an open position for Clerk of Courts. The position was open due to the death of the previous Clerk of Courts, a woman named Michele McQuigg (Republican, former member of VA House of Delegates). Does anyone feel that this win is going to mean that VA Dems are going to do great things? Will anyone outside of NoVa even care?
