It's not too late to go for a short walk, or sit outside on this lovely day. Write in a journal. Curl up with a good book (or movie).

It is sad that you are paying attention on other's families matching outfits. Easter is not about it. Have some joy!

If you were friends with me on FB, you'd see me smiling in front of the National Cathedral in a pretty outfit. Little did you know that during the service I was up in the balcony, was overcome by nausea, and had to unceremoniously excuse myself in the middle of the sermon to go to the bathroom. I almost soiled myself as I struggled down the long spiral staircase to get to the restroom. I'm on my period and wasn't feeling well all day. Yet my FB pic doesn't show that.

My holidays are always sad. No family, parents are dead, only child. The only human I spoke to was the cashier at the grocery store. I don't mind it being just another day, I got stuff done, I just miss having holidays with my parents.

I've had a pretty horrible day riddled with anxiety. I did something stupid the other day and I can't stop thinking about it which is just exacerbating my anxiety.

Holidays are in general overrated IMO. I just feel there is the societal norm that everyone feels they need to live up to. And yes becasue of social media, it is pounded into our heads 24/7. It APPEARS that everyone lives in a foolproof happiness bubble with all the matching LP clothes and phony smiles. Like someone else said, a picture is just a minute of that day and chances are it is not nearly as peachy as it might look.
My H will not spend Christmas with either family, so we always leave Dec. 23rd like clockwork for 10 blissful days in Hawaii.

Not everything is the way it seems on social media, OP. Sometimes, it is in fact the very opposite. EVERY family, couple, person, etc has "stuff" in their lives. An image or photograph is just the snippet of a scene - it doesn't show reality.
Granted I don't celebrate Easter, so I was alone all day today. But I had a great day! I slept in, then had a long, hard workout at the gym. I went grocery shopping, got some tidying up listening to podcasts. It's just a day. There will be many others like it. There are no rules about what you HAVE to do on Easter.
And you know what? I bet many picture perfect looking people also felt like the HAD to take and share that perfect photo, in what may very well have been an imperfect day for them too. Or maybe it actually was a perfect day for them. You've had some great days in the past, and you will in the future. It's just a day.

Sorry for the bummer day, OP. My relatives have a long history of dying around Easter, so I'm pretty content to do nothing. But I do have pangs of envy when I see extended families all together for holidays, the way my own family did when I was a kid. Sigh.
