We do every other week with reversed wednesdays.

What about 4 days on; 4 days off?

Because of my ex's work schedule, I have DD (7) from Monday afternoon until Thursday morning most of the month. Ex has Thursday afternoon until Monday morning 3 weekends a month. The other weekend I have her straight through. DD doesn't like it. She doesn't think it's fair that the weekends are not split equally, but given her dad's schedule restrictions, there is really no way to do that.

We did 2-2-3 from when DD was 2 (when we split) until DD was about 5, because we were advised that it's better for young children to see parents more regularly. We have an agreement about bedtime and general rules that both of us follow. My ex is not great at some things, but he does not tend to keep DD up way past her bed time or anything like that.

We JUST switched from every other week to ever two weeks, as out child is now in high school. So far so good.

We have extremely poor communication and agree on nothing, and have a 7/7 schedule, which is good for minimizing interactions. The kids seem to do well with it.

DS is growing up. We have a 2-2-3 which I've hated from day one. I'm curious what arrangements others have and how it works for them. Trying to find something that might appeal to his dad as he's very combative and contrarian. My main concerns with the 2-2-3 is it doesn't allow for much follow up for school and homework for the parent who is aware of the task at the time and we don't communicate well, we tried. The other concern is we both have different ideas of bed time. When DS is with dad, he's up till 10 on a school night. DS is not even 7 yet. With me, he has to be up by 6 to get to school so he's in bed by 8:30. And I hate the constant change of schedule for him. I'm trying to find something that works for all of us.
