First baby? The interesting thing is we noticed a lot less financial impact with the multiple cycles (mostly OOP) for the first than when we had a child and subsequent cycles with insurance coverage and less cycles.

I could never bring myself to fully tally the costs, but it was certainly in the neighborhood of 40k minimum.

This was for roughly an 18 month time frame, and resulted in healthy twins from DE.

We spent about $50K all in for our kids (6 IUIs, 2 fresh cycles, 2 FETs).

IVF - $10,000. Success. She's 15 months old now.
FET - $5,000. Success, but miscarriage at 8 weeks.

We are now pondering if we should do FET #2. I should mention that I have Kaiser, and they pay 50% for the procedure, but does not cover for ICSI, assisted hatching, or medications.
