I knew a Kellen (woman). She always introduced herself by saying, "It's just like Helen, but with a K."
Except that doesn't help with spelling it. What about Helen? Would be easier.

I had never heard this name until a few years ago, and now I know two toddler boys and a preschool girl named Kellan. It's not my favorite, but I don't hate it either. I do think it's weird as a girls name though.
