That is a known fact, PP.
It has everything to do with education and socio-economic status. The Africans accepted into good universities don't usually come from generational poverty and a defeated mindset. There have been excellent studies done on the relation between resilience, cognitive skills and the stress of generational poverty and insecurity in the US. As you can easily imagine, they are closely linked, because at some point, people get beaten down by constantly having to struggle.
